Your current tariff may be coming to an end, and with the higher standing charge and the Ofgem price cap increase, you may be concerned about your electricity bills.
My energy tariff with EDF expires at the end of this month, and the standing charge will rise from 24p to 65p. The day rate will increase from 24p to 29p, and the night rate from 11p to 13p. They are also pushing for the installation of a smart meter, which I do not want! You have the right to refuse a smart meter, but your energy supplier may still push for one by stating “This plan requires a smart meter” for each tariff, as EDF have done, unless you’re willing to pay more.
After shopping around, Octopus Energy seems not only to be the cheapest option, but none of their tariffs require a smart meter. Additionally, with zero exit fees, should energy prices decrease, you can switch at any time without paying a penalty.

I hope this helps you save on your electricity bills.
You can also save more by doing small things using a solar power station: Get rechargeable AA batteries and use them for game controllers, indoor lighting, toys—anything that requires batteries.
Use your solar power station to charge the batteries; you’ll save more than you might expect compared to buying new ones or charging them via the grid. Motion detection lights around the house prevent them from being left on and cost you nothing in electricity, as you can charge them with your solar power station.
If you have oil-fired central heating, ensure the heater isn’t being partially powered by the grid. If it is, switch off the small immersion heater button. Running your heating solely on oil will significantly reduce your electricity bill.
